Mission
As well as plugging into our community, we are a church family who love to reach out, serve and bless further afield.
We do this in a variety of ways including: sponsoring children and families in a number of different countries; involvement with education projects in Ethiopia; and directly supporting church family and friends who are serving abroad in Central America, India and Africa.
As a church, we support two long-term missionaries: Helen Eaton and Suzanne Potter. Helen works with Wycliffe in Tanzania and Suzanne works with Latin Link in Guatemala.
Helen Eaton |
Helen Eaton - Linguist with Wycliffe Bible Translators
Helen has been based in Tanzania since 2002. She works in Bible translation projects by using linguistics to ensure translated Scripture is accurate, clear, natural and acceptable. She is a member of a church in Reading, but grew up in TUFC and considers it her “home home church”. Helen is passionate about the Bible and language, and she loves having a job which connects the two and helps people access God’s Word in a language they value the most.

Suzanne Potter |
Suzanne Potter - Latin Link's International Team Leader
Suzanne first came to TUFC aged 10 and promptly told her Sunday school teachers that she wanted to be a missionary! She later went on to study Latin American Studies and Christian Youth Work. In 2008 she followed God's call to long term cross-cultural ministry with Latin Link.
In February 2022, Suzanne was promoted from her role with responsibility for Mission Mobilization and Sending for the Latin Link Team in Guatemala and Mexico to become Latin Link's new International Team Leader. She is based in Guatemala.
